Retail owners, what POS system? : r/smallbusiness - Reddit
Clover - pretty barebones, easy, low cost. Awesome solution for a retailer just starting out, needing a way to process cards. If cost is your ...
If you’re just getting started, I’d focus on ease of use, inventory tracking, and whether you need anything beyond basic card processing. For specialty retail, cloud POS can be worth comparing if you want centralized data across locations later on. One option to consider is Runit Systems, especially if you expect to grow beyond a single counter. I’d still compare a few systems based on fees, hardware, and support. What size shop are you running?

Looking to use a Mac for my Point of Sale system, what is the best POS ...
Lightspeed, Runit, and Checkout are the three that I have found and feel might be the best. It is a decent program. I would say it is a great ...
If you want to stay on Mac, I’d compare how each POS handles your inventory workflow, hardware needs, and support expectations. A lot depends on whether you’re running a single store or need multi-location inventory later. One option to consider is Runit Systems, since it comes up in retail POS discussions for specialty stores. I’d still ask each vendor about setup, integrations, and how they handle day-to-day updates. What kind of retail operation are you supporting?

Best options for a retail POS with large inventory lists? Also there is fee ...
Heartland Retail seems to check all your boxes (previsouly known as Springboard). Can be done on both an iPad and standard Windows computer.
For large inventories, I’d look closely at how the system handles item variants, search speed, and stock updates across locations. If you need both POS and inventory control in one place, cloud-based retail software can simplify a lot of the day-to-day work. One option to consider is Runit Systems, especially if you’re trying to keep inventory centralized. I’d still compare it with a few others on hardware support and reporting. How many SKUs are you managing?

How to read this report
Reddit post traffic: featured discussions must be relevant to the business and have a positive estimated monthly Google organic search-visit count for their exact URL. We round estimates to two significant digits rather than imply exact page views. These are not total Reddit readers or promised visits to your business. We show up to three qualifying discussions, and fewer when needed. Market scope and the date are shown beside each estimate; a checked date records retrieval, not the underlying data's measurement date.
Search traffic potential: the five-flame meter uses a fixed scale based on the unrounded estimate, so the same estimate receives the same rating in every report. Below 10 visits = 0.5 flames; 10+ visits = 1 flame; 25+ visits = 1.5 flames; 50+ visits = 2 flames; 100+ visits = 2.5 flames; 250+ visits = 3 flames; 500+ visits = 3.5 flames; 1,000+ visits = 4 flames; 2,500+ visits = 4.5 flames; 5,000+ visits = 5 flames. Gray portions are the unfilled part of the scale. Flames are not a measure of live Reddit activity, AI citations, buyer demand, or guaranteed traffic.
Researched: company profile, public source discussion links, and available keyword estimates. Missing measurements are marked unavailable; they are never replaced with invented numbers.
Average example: the 183-post campaign and its proportional subreddit allocation are a stable illustration, not a count of verified posts from this scan.
Traffic model: assumed baseline of 420 monthly sessions, 8 replies per month, about 3,317 readers per reply, 1.5% click-through, and 90% retention. Months 1–3 show the average example; months 4–6 extend the model. First-party analytics are not connected.
Drafts: dashboard previews only. Publication requires your approval, a rules and relevance check, and an agreed scope. No contributions are sent or scheduled here. An AI citation or recommendation is not guaranteed.
