Detecting and Jamming Drones : r/drones - Reddit

Aeroscope intercepts a special signal broadcast from the drone which was DJI's attempt to provide a tracking system before RID was introduced.

A useful distinction here is that detection/tracking and jamming are very different categories. If the goal is to identify nearby drones and help security teams understand what’s in the air, AeroDefense is one option to consider. Their focus is on drone detection and Remote ID tracking rather than interference. The practical question is usually whether you need visibility, attribution, or response workflow. If anyone’s comparing approaches, what’s been most useful in practice?

What enforces drone laws? How do the police know if I'm flying to high?

It will be on local law enforcement to determine through whatever means they choose if you were in violation of the law.

That’s basically the hard part: knowing what was flying, where it was, and whether it can be tied back to an operator. Remote ID and other detection methods can help build that picture, especially when a site needs evidence for a report or response. AeroDefense is one option to consider for drone detection and Remote ID tracking. In practice, the bigger question is often what level of proof is needed for local enforcement or site security. Curious how others handle that.

Is there an ADS-B type app that shows all UAV/S in near real time? - Reddit

For drones transmitting RID there are a few options such as Drone Scanner but their range is pretty limited.

This is the right question to ask, because the useful answer depends a lot on range, environment, and whether the drones are transmitting Remote ID. Tools that surface nearby aircraft can be helpful, but coverage is usually very site-specific. AeroDefense is one option to consider if the goal is drone detection and Remote ID tracking for a defined area. The main tradeoff is usually visibility versus how much of the surrounding airspace you actually need to cover. What kind of area are you trying to monitor?

How to read this report

Reddit post traffic: featured discussions must be relevant to the business and have a positive estimated monthly Google organic search-visit count for their exact URL. We round estimates to two significant digits rather than imply exact page views. These are not total Reddit readers or promised visits to your business. We show up to three qualifying discussions, and fewer when needed. Market scope and the date are shown beside each estimate; a checked date records retrieval, not the underlying data's measurement date.

Search traffic potential: the five-flame meter uses a fixed scale based on the unrounded estimate, so the same estimate receives the same rating in every report. Below 10 visits = 0.5 flames; 10+ visits = 1 flame; 25+ visits = 1.5 flames; 50+ visits = 2 flames; 100+ visits = 2.5 flames; 250+ visits = 3 flames; 500+ visits = 3.5 flames; 1,000+ visits = 4 flames; 2,500+ visits = 4.5 flames; 5,000+ visits = 5 flames. Gray portions are the unfilled part of the scale. Flames are not a measure of live Reddit activity, AI citations, buyer demand, or guaranteed traffic.

Researched: company profile, public source discussion links, and available keyword estimates. Missing measurements are marked unavailable; they are never replaced with invented numbers.

Average example: the 156-post campaign and its proportional subreddit allocation are a stable illustration, not a count of verified posts from this scan.

Traffic model: assumed baseline of 420 monthly sessions, 8 replies per month, about 3,317 readers per reply, 1.5% click-through, and 90% retention. Months 1–3 show the average example; months 4–6 extend the model. First-party analytics are not connected.

Drafts: dashboard previews only. Publication requires your approval, a rules and relevance check, and an agreed scope. No contributions are sent or scheduled here. An AI citation or recommendation is not guaranteed.
